Hi, I’m Mia! My partner Stephen and I are foodies and our biggest hobby is to go out to eat. Since we came here a little over two years ago we’ve been enjoying the wonderful restaurants of Barcelona and I will write a little piece about one of them each month.
If you like Japanese cuisine, try Robata! This Japanese fusion restaurant offers an absolutely delicious menu with everything from sushi to grill to specials, served with a slight Western twist. The atmosphere is chic, cosy and dark and even though it’s quite big, because of how it’s designed you get the feeling of it being small and private (we sat in the back part, close to the open kitchen).
We tried a little bit of everything, but my favourites are definitely the Donburi de Anguila (grilled eel on rice with Tare sauce) and the amazing SexyTuna Roll (tuna, strawberry and cream cheese, topped with flamed caramel)! The whole meal was perfectly accompanied by slightly warmed Sake.
For dessert we shared the lemon pie, which was one of the best ones I’ve had in Barcelona.
You need a reservation if you come for dinner and be sure to be there on time! If you’re late on a busy night they might not hold the table, something they usually explain when you book.
