Hi, I’m Mia! Me and my partner Stephen are foodies and our biggest hobby is to go out to eat. Since we came here a little over two years ago we’ve been enjoying the wonderful restaurants of Barcelona and I will write a little piece about one of them each month.
Let’s talk about Llamber!
If you want to treat yourself to tasty and creative tapas, head over to Llamber! This stylishly hip and cosy restaurant in the heart of Born serves a fusion of Asturian and Catalan food, with a personal twist. The interior is a mix of modern and antique with exposed brick walls and warm wooden details. The service is excellent and the staff knowledgeable, giving you the full experience of fine dining but in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The wine list is impressive with around 30 wines by the glass and the sommelier will happily recommend and pair wine with your food.
The menu is set up for sharing and the dishes will arrive one after the other, perfectly timed. Among the pica-pica try the “Patatinas with cabrales blue cheese cream and hazelnut praline” and the “Parmesan fondue with deep fried king prawns and green asparagus” or the “Codfish fritters with honey allioli”! Among the platinos the “Potato Gnocchi and ecological Vare cheese with seasonal truffle” and the “Iberian pork confit with sweet potato fritters and mini carrots” stand out, but truly, you just can’t go wrong here.
If you still have room for dessert try the “Catalan Cream Foam” or be brave and end the meal with a “Plate of Catalan and Asturian cheese.”
And should you wish to start or end your evening with a drink they also have an excellent cocktail bar!
They normally have two sittings, one around 8 – 8:30 pm and the second around 10 – 10:30 pm but make sure you book a table, Llamber fills up quickly.
Mia hosts the BWN’s Lunch Club. Find out more about our activities here.
